Tom Read Wilson, star of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, has had his distinctive accent and elaborate vocabulary become a talking point in the jungle.
The Celebs Go Dating favourite is currently braving the infamous bushtucker trials alongside fellow celebrities including Aitch, Shona McGarty, Martin Kemp, Lisa Riley, Eddie Kadi and Ruby Wax.
Having joined the camp late with Vogue Williams, Tom’s unique way of speaking has already caught the attention of his fellow contestants.
“Everything you say sounds so expensive,” Aitch commented, while others challenged him to say phrases like “pepperoni pizza, jalapenos and two curry sauce” in a Mancunian accent.

However, Anna Williamson, a close friend of Tom’s, has now clarified that his voice is genuine, stating emphatically: “That is not an act!”
During her appearance on Lorraine, she explained: “It’s probably the most common question everybody says, does he really talk like that?”
Her response was clear: “I can now clarify, absolutely, Tom Read Wilson speaks like that. He’s a trained actor but that is not an act,” reports the Express.
She went on: “He’s a lyricist, an author, and I’ve seen Tom in every which way, we’ve travelled, worked on Celebs Go Dating for many years, we’re friends in real life.”
Anna also took the opportunity to sing Tom’s praises, saying: “Tom is our life coach, Tom is one of the most stoic, most sage… he’s a wonderful, wonderful guy.”

She concluded by saying: “Honestly, I hate the phrase what you see is what you get, but he’s the kindest guy, in this industry as well, to meet someone that is so unapologetically himself, he is so kind, everyone loves Tom.”
This follows fans’ suspicions that Tom’s voice and accent couldn’t possibly be genuine, with many asserting he revealed his true voice while mimicking Aitch’s Mancunian accent.
One viewer posted on X: “Finally, we hear Tom’s real voice! #ImACeleb.” Another remarked: “Tom’s real voice exposed #ImACeleb.”
A third commented: “Tom doing an impression of Aitch is definitely his real voice #ImACeleb.” Another observed: “Tom could change his voice so fast crazy skill #ImaCeleb.”
One fan suggested: “I feel like Tom ACTUALLY speaks like that and this posh voice is all for show.”

Before participating in the series, Tom expressed his desire to debunk another misconception about himself.
He said: “There is an adventurous spirit lurking in me and I can be intrepid. For instance, I have climbed a mountain and abseiled down a rock before. I’d like to show this side of me as it doesn’t come up very often.”
He added: “Socialising is the aspect I am most excited about. My favourite thing about being alive is meeting people. And I am sure I am going to learn new things about myself because of the degree of socialisation. I live alone and it will be very different for me in a myriad way.
“Yes, historically my background is the theatre and I spend bags of time with them (actors), but I have never done it around the clock.”
I’m A Celebrity continues at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX
