Identity of woman killed in Smith County dog attack released

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – The Smith County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of a woman killed in a dog attack.

According to the sheriff’s office, the woman killed in an attack by three dogs Friday was Madison Riley Hull, 23, of Tyler. The sheriff’s office said she was dog-sitting for the owners of the dogs.

According to the SCSO, around 4:15 p.m. Friday, a deputy responding to an animal call found Hull lying in the backyard of a residence in the 15000 block of Northwood Drive.

The deputy ran toward Hull as the three pit bulls came toward him. The deputy shot and killed one of the dogs causing the others to flee, so he could safely remove Hull from the backyard.

She later succumbed to her injuries.
