GMB star erupts after Meghan Markle’s house staff announces royal before entering room

Good Morning Britain regular Narinder Kaur reacted to Meghan Markle’s interview on the Jeremy Vine Show. She was joined by fellow panellists, radio presenter James Max and actress Chizzy Akodulu. While discussing the papers, host Jeremy commented on the latest debacle surrounding the Duchess of Sussex.
Meghan was announced by her full title to a room – with only one other person in it – during an interview for Harper’s Bazaar. Journalist Kaitlyn Greenidge revealed the moment happened when she went to interview the Duchess of Sussex at a property in New York.
The writer said that as she walked into the room, the house manager declared: “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex” – despite it only being the three of them inside. Ms Greenidge wrote in her article for the magazine: “We’re in a grand brownstone on the Upper East Side that belongs to one of Meghan’s friends.
“When I enter, the house manager announces, ‘Meghan, Duchess of Sussex,’ even though we appear to be the only other two people in the house.”
Speaking on the Channel 5 show on Friday, Jeremy commented: “One of these classic stories about Meghan. That she asks to be announced when she enters the room.
“You’ve got to say, ‘Ladies and gentleman, the Duchess of Sussex.'”
Narinder swiftly interjected as she hit out at the claims in Meghan’s defence. The GMB star declared: “I’m not having that. I read [the interview].
“[Meghan] does not ask. But yes, the article does say that twice. They announce her. It doesn’t say she is asking for this.”
She continued: “But is that not royal protocol that you do announce the Duchess of Sussex.”
Jeremy suggested “maybe [Meghan] is being stitched up” with Chizzy echoing “everyone leave Meghan alone”.
While James also said he agreed with the panel to “let her be”.
He added: “She signed the deal with Netflix which is based purely on who she is. I say let her be, let her do her thing.”
Harry and Meghan stopped using their HRH styles when they stepped away from the monarchy in 2020
In the cover interview for the magazine, Meghan revealed how she was drawn to her husband Prince Harry’s “childlike wonder and playfulness” as she spoke about family life.
The duchess said she appreciates spending more time with her children because she can work from home.
