Everton fans are not happy with club captain Seamus Coleman after he suffered another injury in their latest Premier League clash against Man United.

Everton beat Man United 1-0 on Monday (24 November) night in a game marred by some early controversy that saw Idrissa Gueye sent off for slapping his teammate Michael Keane.

Club captain Seamus Coleman had already been substituted off by that point too, as his evening lasted just 10 minutes and he was replaced by Jake O’Brien.

David Moyes‘ side did go on to win the game through Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s great first-half strike, but fans will have been disappointed to see Coleman go off once again after an injury-hit last 18 months.

Seamus Coleman suffered another injury early on vs Man United

Coleman signed a new Everton contract in June despite missing 25 games last season due to numerous different injuries.

Moyes handed him a first Premier League start since last December at Old Trafford on Monday, but the Irishman’s evening lasted all of 10 minutes.

He pulled up with a hamstring injury and had to be taken off for his compatriot O’Brien, with Moyes admitting after the game that he was “surprised” by what had happened after Coleman started twice for his country last week.

Everton fans all say the same thing about Coleman after latest setback

Everton fans love Coleman for what he has done for their club in the 16 years since his move from Sligo Rovers, but many were critical of him online after his latest problem was suffered against Man United.

Taking to X, one fan said: “Coleman needs to retire man this is just sad,” and another added: “Well that was a waste of time and sub. The guy was finished 5 yr ago. Take him round back and make it quick and painless #efc #Coleman.”

One supporter blasted the club as they said: “Ridiculous decision to give him a contract in the first place. Then Moyes plays him after playing 2 International games?”
