A Twin Peaks installation leads BFI’s month-long David Lynch celebration

Something strange is arriving at the BFI Southbank early next year – a room that isn’t just a room, but a threshold.

As part of a David Lynch season of films and talks, visitors will be invited to step sideways into a recreation of the Twin Peaks’ Red Room, the velvet-draped chamber deep within the Black Lodge where time coils, shadows whisper, and courage was the only true currency.

They say the Red Room is a place of pain and suffering. A place where spirits bargain, where doubles slip out of their mirrors, and where a soul without “perfect courage” can simply vanish.

And now it’s coming to London.

The Red Room will be open throughout January as part of the David Lynch season. It will be free to enter. No ticket. No reservations. Just walk in, if you dare.

Tickets for screenings and events will go on sale to BFI Patrons on 1st December, Members on 2nd December, and whatever’s left will be available to the general public on 4th December.

Hopefully, the cafe will be offering damn fine cups of coffee with a slice of cherry pie.
