Gameday 22: Florida Panthers at Nashville Predators

The Florida Panthers (11-9-1) will play a one-off road game tonight and make their only stop in Music City when they face the struggling Nashville Predators (6-11-4) at Bridgestone Arena
A sloppy start and an off night from Sergei Bobrovsky doomed the Cats in Saturday night’s 6-3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers. Down 4-1 early in the second, the Panthers replaced Bobrovsky with Daniil Tarasov and closed the gap to one on goals from Mackie Samoskevich and Sam Reinhart. Unfortunately, they couldn’t find the equalizer and the Oilers put the game away with a pair of empty-netters. Anton Lundell scored Florida’s first goal and Tarasov stopped all 12 shots in relief as the Panthers finished the five-game homestand on a down note with a 3-2 record.
Since winning consecutive games for the only time this season in late October, Nashville has gone a miserable 2-8-2 and have been shut out in back-to-back games. After splitting the Global Series in Sweden with the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Predators returned home and got blanked 3-0 by Mackenzie Blackwood and the mighty Colorado Avalanche on Saturday. Juuse Saros stopped 23 of 24 shots to keep it close until the Avalanche tacked on two empty-net goals. Filip Forsberg leads the team in goals (8) and in scoring with 15 points.
