Uber Eats and Doordash have agreed to minimum rates that could result in pay jumps of 25 per cent for gig workers in a proposed landmark standard that would apply across the on-demand food delivery sector.
Draft consensus standards filed with the Fair Work Commission for approval on Monday included a $32-an-hour safety net and transparency requirements around delivery requests, after more than a year of talks between the Transport Workers Union and the two platforms.
