The Finer Details
Following on from the bi-turbo axing announcement earlier this month, carsales now knows what the updated Ford Ranger and Everest line-ups will look like, and the short answer is that a six-cylinder will be offered on every trim level.
Starting with the ute, the XL 4x2s will all be powered by the updated single-turbo 2.0-litre diesel engine (timing chain, updated fuel injection, 125kW/405Nm) while the 4x4s will all have the option of the meatier 3.0-litre six-cylinder – the XLT 4×2 will also only feature the 2.0-litre.
The singular XLS 4×4 variant will be six-cylinder only, as will the XLT, Wolftrak, Tremor, Wildtrak and Platinum 4x4s, but the mid-range Black Edition will be offered – permanently – with the choice of four- or six-cylinder power.
Ford will revive the Wolftrak nameplate – trademarked locally in 2021 – for a limited-edition pick-up seemingly pitched as a cut-price Tremor, minus the fancy Bilstein suspension.

Headline features on its spec sheet include 17-inch alloys wrapped in all-terrain tyres, Pro-Trailer Backup Assist, a 360-deg camera, two extra off-road drive modes (Mud/Rut and Sand), the Cargo Management system, two front-tow hooks, a ‘long-legged’ sports bar, honeycomb radiator grille, all-weather floor mats, vinyl seats with ‘Wolftrak’ embroidery, green interior accents, and an overhead auxiliary switch bank.
Above that, the hardcore Tremor will also be returning in a temporary capacity, but this time it will be packing the six-cylinder.
There are some subtle equipment and spec changes across the core variants – full details are at the bottom of this article – but the flagship Ranger Raptor has been carried over essentially untouched.
The Everest will be available in the new Active, Sport, Tremor and Platinum variants.

Active and Sport versions offer 2.0-litre or 3.0-litre engines, while Active replaces the outgoing Ambiente and Trend grades.
Headline gear on the newcomer includes leather-accented seats, a 12-inch infotainment screen, 18-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, tyre pressure monitoring system, LED headlamps, “and more” that will be announced later.
“In response to customer demand, the 360-degree camera has been made standard on Sport and Tremor,” Ford said about the Everest’s tweaked equipment lists – the Sport also gains tyre pressure monitoring.
“Tremor’s seating offering has also been updated; the Tremor premium seat pack (heated and vented 10-way power driver, eight-way power passenger) has been standardised, and an option to remove the third-row seating has now been made available.”

The Road Ahead
Ford will announce the full ‘MY26.5’ Ranger and Everest specifications closer to their local introduction mid-next year but has confirmed order books will open next month.
