Man dies in West London house fire after being rescued by firefighters

A man has died after a house fire on Queens Road in Southall. The fire erupted on Friday, November 21, with the London Fire Brigade called at 10.20pm.
Part of the first floor of an end-of-terrace house was damaged by the fire. Firefighters rescued a man from a first-floor bedroom by using an internal staircase.
He was treated on scene by the London Ambulance Service, but was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by both the London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police.
The London Fire Brigade said: “Sadly, a man has died following a house fire on Queens Road in Southall. Part of the first floor of an end-of-terrace house was damaged by fire.
“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man from a first-floor bedroom via an internal staircase. He was treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews, but was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 2220 and firefighters began to leave the scene by 2341. Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Southall, Hayes and Ealing fire stations were in attendance.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.”
