Netflix confirms James Bond star to play Aunt Ophelia in Wednesday season 3

Netflix has finally announced who will be playing Wednesday Addams’ Aunt Ophelia in the upcoming third season.
Wednesday fans have been on the edge of their seats, waiting to find out who will play the role of Wednesday Addams’ Aunt Ophelia.
The second season of Wednesday was released earlier this year on Netflix, leaving viewers hanging as Wednesday Addams (portrayed by Jenna Ortega) geared up for a road trip to locate her best friend Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), who had morphed into a werewolf.
As she and Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen) embarked on their journey, Wednesday had a vision of her Aunt Ophelia, revealing that her troubled relative was indeed still alive.
However, fans were left in suspense about who would be playing the enigmatic aunt, with Netflix subscribers kept in the dark for months.
At last, Netflix has announced that actress Eva Green will be stepping into the shoes of Aunt Ophelia in the third season of Wednesday.

French actress Eva Green is known for her portrayals of complex and dark characters in a variety of films and shows throughout her career.
Her credits include Dark Shadows, Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children, The Luminaries, The Golden Compass, and Camelot, to name just a few.
One of her most notable film roles was as Vesper Lynd, the love interest and double agent in the 2006 James Bond movie Casino Royale, alongside actor Daniel Craig.
On the small screen, Green is remembered for her role as Vanessa Ives in all three seasons of the Showtime and Sky Atlantic drama Penny Dreadful.
This casting announcement represents the first significant addition to Wednesday season three since the show’s renewal was confirmed over the summer, ahead of the second season’s premiere.

Similar to her niece, Ophelia possesses raven abilities, but after overextending her psychic powers, she was placed in Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital by Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley), the mother of both herself and Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), before managing to break free.
Ophelia was believed to be lost forever, but in the closing scenes of season two, viewers learn she is still alive.
Even more startling was the revelation that Ophelia had been imprisoned in Hester’s basement, where she had scrawled “Wednesday must die” on the walls in blood.
So what drove Hester to imprison her own daughter, and why does Aunt Ophelia harbor such deadly intentions toward Wednesday?
Wednesday is available to watch on Netflix.
