EastEnders fans are saying that they’ve ‘worked out’ a ‘red herring’ surrounding Jasmine’s identity amid a major Cindy Beale hospital twist on the BBC soap.
After arriving on the BBC soap several months ago, Jasmine has been on the hunt to find information about Cindy. Played by Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness, the teenage character initially began working for Cindy, but it soon became clear that she has ulterior motives.
Last month saw Jasmine dramatically hit by Nigel Bates’ car, making up a lie in the hospital about her mum, leading fans to suspect that a face from Cindy’s past is out to get her. On top of this, the teenager has won the heart of Oscar Branning, who has been trying to win her over through several romantic gestures.
Things took a major turn on Monday (November 24), with Cindy and her daughter-in-law Lauren Branning becoming suspicious of Jasmine and started digging for information.
When Jasmine left her phone unattended, Lauren and Cindy use it to contact her mother, Anita. Upon meeting them, they were warned by her mum about Jasmine’s dark side.
Arriving at the Prince Albert to confront Jasmine, Cindy shared that she’s certain that the youngster is part of the notorious Ford gangster family. Prior to being put in witness protection and becoming Rose Knight for years, Cindy shared information about her cellmate Jackie Ford in exchange for her freedom.

Entering a fit of rage upon hearing her mum was contacted, Jasmine entered a fit of rage and pushed Cindy down the stairs in a stunning cliffhanger.
In scenes aired on Tuesday night (November 25), Oscar discovered Cindy’s lifeless body and raised the alarm. When Oscar quizzed her, Jasmine denied pushing Cindy but then lied and said she acted in self-defence.
Helpless romantic Oscar then pleaded Jasmine’s innocence to the Beales and Knights, who think he’s being used as a path to get closer to Cindy. Deciding that they were right, Oscar asked Jasmine if she’s a member of the Ford family, which she denied before he broke up with her.
Meanwhile, it was revealed that Cindy was taken into surgery as a result of injuring her elbow, with Ian informed by the doctors that they’re were worried about complications.
Following her operation, Cindy was paid a surprise visit from Jasmine while she was unconscious. In another cliffhanger, Cindy spotted her walking out of her room before the credits began to roll. While it remains to be seen just who Jasmine is, fans on the EastEnders Reddit page aren’t convinced that she’ll have anything to do with the Fords.
@Iokastez said: “Jasmine just isn’t convincing as a villain, she’s too bratty and not as smart as she thinks she is. Wondering if the Fords are a red herring though; it all seems a bit too tidy and convenient for everyone to have suddenly latched on to the theory? IDK. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of her though.”
@Afraid-Ad-8844 replied: “I agree that the fords motive seems like a red herring. I think her dad’s side of the family is going to end up linked to Anthony’s shadowy phone call we saw.” @Bird_Overwatch posted: “That was a dreadful episode. If Jasmine is a Ford, the reveal is done so there is nothing to be revealed, if she isn’t, it’s likely she will be randomly linked into a different storyline.”
@gilestowler commented: “Yeah the fact that she’s being accused of being a Ford means that the wind is completely taken out of the sails if that turns out to be true. There can’t be a reveal when it’s already been revealed. But I don’t know what else it could be. Some secret daughter that Cindy forgot she had with George?”
