Snow squall watch issued for parts of Ontario

Snow squall watch – issued for:
- Newmarket – Georgina – Northern York Region
- Barrie – Orillia – Midland
- Owen Sound – Blue Mountains – Northern Grey County)
- Innisfil – New Tecumseth – Angus
- Kitchener – Cambridge – Region of Waterloo
Snow squalls possible beginning Thursday morning.
What:
Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 30 cm with locally higher amounts possible.
Near zero visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.
When:
Beginning Thursday morning and possibly continuing into Saturday.
Additional information:
Snow squalls will shift throughout the day on Thursday before locking in place Thursday night. Strong winds are also expected for some locations and a special weather statement is in effect. These strong winds will further reduce visibility in blowing snow.
Travel may be hazardous.
Prepare for the possibility of quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Prepare for possible disruptions to transportation, services, and utilities.
