The Blue Jays have placed the left-handed pitcher on unconditional release waivers, the team announced Tuesday.
Lucas made six appearances for the Jays in 2025, including five starts. He totalled 24.1 innings pitched with a 6.66 ERA and a 1.521 WHIP. In 2024, he made two relief appearances for Toronto, getting torched for six earned runs in 4.2 innings.
The 29-year-old did have some success in 2025. He did not allow an earned run through his first two outings, but then allowed a combined 14 in his next two outings.
Lucas has pitched for the Blue Jays, Oakland Athletics and Detroit Tigers in the majors.
