Blue Jays put lefty Lucas on release waivers

The Toronto Blue Jays have placed left-handed pitcher Easton Lucas on unconditional release waivers, it was announced Tuesday.
This brings their 40-player roster count to 37.
Lucas pitched in six games for the Blue Jays at the big-league level last season, going 3-3 with a 6.66 ERA with 23 strikeouts in 24.1 innings pitched.
He was lights out to begin the season in April and did not allow a run over his first two starts. But the 29-year-old allowed a combined 14 earned in his next two outings and made only two more appearances for the big club the rest of the season.
He also pitched in 17 minor-league games in 2025, turning in a 3.78 ERA in 64.1 innings.
Lucas has pitched three seasons in the majors with the Jays, Oakland Athletics and Detroit Tigers and has an 8.02 ERA in 20 games.
