We now know what it will cost to acquire Ryan O’Reilly in a trade

According to a report from NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, Nashville Predators GM Barry Trotz has set a steep asking price for veteran forward Ryan O’Reilly.
From LeBrun:
The price on Ryan O’Reilly if the Predators decide to move him later this season would be a first round pick plus an A level prospect.
Uh… what?
Trotz knows that it’s 2025, right? It’s not 2018 anymore and O’Reilly isn’t worth near that much on a trade. He still has one more season left on a four year, $18 million deal that pays him $4.5 million annually. He also has just six goals and 13 points in 22 games so far this season. Oh… and last season was statistically the worst season of his NHL career in over a decade.
But right… a 1st round pick and a top prospect…
Keep dreamin’, Barry…
