Fire guts grand Evans home on Ridgepine Drive; no one injured

EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A large home on Ridgepine Drive was reduced to ruins in a fire Tuesday.
Much of the brick home’s roof was missing after the fire that was reported around 11 a.m., pouring dark smoke into the sky.
At least 20 firefighters were still on the scene at 12:30 p.m., and yellow safety tape was strung up around the house.
Although the flames were gone, an aerial truck continued to soak the top floor.
The most damaged part of the house was above the garage, where little was left of a car that was still parked inside.
Officials said no no injuries were reported, and there were no road closures, according to dispatchers.
Multiple police cars and at least one ambulance were on the scene for a time.
