Robert Irwin brings his passion for wildlife to Florida, Special guest at Jacksonville Zoo

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (CBS12) — When Robert Irwin walks into a room, the conversation changes.
The 21-year-old conservationist, photographer, and television personality has spent his life on the frontlines of wildlife protection, continuing the legacy of his father, the legendary Steve Irwin. Now, he’s bringing that mission to Jacksonville for one unforgettable night.
On February 10, 2026, Irwin will headline “Toast to Conservation”, an elegant evening at the Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens celebrating wildlife, sustainability, and the power of community action. Sponsored by Danis Construction, the event will give guests an exclusive first look at the Zoo’s stunning new VyStar SkyScape and J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver Manatee River Habitat—a state-of-the-art rescue and rehabilitation space for Florida’s beloved manatees.
Irwin’s appearance is more than a meet-and-greet. It’s a chance to hear firsthand what it takes to protect endangered species in a rapidly changing world, according to the news release. From his work with Australia Zoo and Wildlife Warriors to his adventures in some of the planet’s most remote regions, Irwin has become one of the most influential voices for conservation today.

Guests will enjoy a chef-curated dinner, connect with fellow conservation supporters, and experience the Zoo’s new immersive entrance and manatee habitat—holding 330,000 gallons of water to support rescue and rehabilitation efforts, according to the news release.
