The safety upgrades on the Mitchell Highway at Deep Creek between Wongarbon and Geurie will deliver smoother, safer journeys for all road users travelling on this key route in the state’s central west.
The upgrades are being funded through the Towards Zero Safer Roads Program, a road safety infrastructure and speed management treatment program that aims to deliver sustainable and long-term reductions in road trauma through upgrades of the existing road network.
Safety treatments including shoulder widening, wide centrelines and safety barriers will help to ensure that the thousands of locals, tourists and freight operators who travel between Wellington and Dubbo every day make it to their destinations safely.
