Tuozzo’s career night sends Wildcats to SEC Tournament Final

A career-high 25 digs from junior libero Molly Tuozzo propelled the Wildcats past fourth-seeded Tennessee 3-1 Monday night in the tournament semifinals. The match mirrored the teams’ Nov. 9 regular season meeting, with Tennessee winning set one 25-20 before UK came back to win sets two, three and four 25-22, 25-15 and 25-23, respectively.
Junior outside hitter Brooklyn DeLeye had 22 kills on 46 swings, hitting .370 on the night, while senior outside hitter Eva Hudson had 18 kills on 59 swings for a .220 hitting percentage. Freshman setter Kassie O’Brien had 46 assists.
Tuozzo also logged eight assists, tying her career high. Kentucky held Tennessee to a .208 hitting percentage, including just .022 in set three.
The Wildcats face third-seeded Texas in the SEC Tournament Final Tuesday at 7 p.m. The match will be televised on SEC Network.
