NBA results and standings: Doncic leads Lakers to Cup Quarterfinals

Luka Doncic paved the way for the Los Angeles Lakers in a 135-118 win over the Los Angeles Clippers at crypto.com Arena on Tuesday, securing the top seed in West Group B of the Emirates NBA Cup. JJ Redick’s side also improved the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season tally to 13-4.
The 26-year-old Slovenian superstar went for 43 points behind 14/28 field goals, including seven three-pointers. Thirteen assists shaped a double-double to go with nine rebounds, one block, and one steal over 38:16. German teammate Maxi Kleber threw in two points and three rebounds off the bench. For the visitors, Croatian Ivica Zubac and French Nicolas Batum finished with 10-point, 10-rebound double-double and six points, respectively, but Swiss Yanic Konan Niederhauser was limited to two fruitless minutes, and Serbian Bogdan Bogdanovic (left hip contusion) remained sidelined.
Earlier in Xfinity Mobile Arena, German Franz Wagner put up 21 points, and the Orlando Magic routed the Philadelphia 76ers, 144-103, knocking their opponents out of Cup contention. German Tristan da Silva, Georgian Goga Bitadze, and French Noah Penda contributed ten points apiece, with German Moritz Wagner (left knee injury recovery) staying on the injury list. Turkish Adem Bona (right ankle sprain) was among several injured Sixers.
With CJ McCollum scoring 46 points, the Washington Wizards overpowered the Atlanta Hawks, 132-113, in Capital One Arena, to snap a 14-game losing streak in the Regular Season and avoid Cup elimination. French Alex Sarr chipped in a 27-point, 11-rebound double-double, with fellow French starter Bilal Coulibaly at nine points and Serbian reserve Tristan Vukcevic at seven points.
Starting for the visitors, Latvian Kristaps Porzingis and French Zaccharie Risacher ended up with 22 points and 17 points, respectively. Coming off the bench for the team coached by Quin Snyder, Czech Vit Krejci went for ten points. Serbian Nikola Djurisic and Spanish Eli Ndiaye remained out of the lineup.
