James Comey case dismissed in blow to Trump

In a memoir published after Mr Trump sacked him in 2017, Mr Comey claimed the president had demanded a Mafia-style loyalty oath just days into his first term.
According to the book, Mr Trump told him: “I need loyalty, I expect loyalty.” He wrote that dealing with his boss at the time gave him “flashbacks to my earlier career as a prosecutor against the Mob”.
Mr Trump responded by calling his former FBI chief a “leaker and a liar” and an “untruthful slime ball”.
In a September Truth Social post addressed to Pam Bondi, his attorney general, Mr Trump demanded prosecutors move faster to bring cases against his enemies, including the former bureau boss.
“Pam: I have reviewed over 30 statements and posts saying that, essentially, same old story as last time, all talk, no action. Nothing is being done. What about Comey, Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff, Letitia [James]???” he wrote in what was intended to be a private message, according to the Wall Street Journal.
“They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done… We can’t delay any longer, it’s killing our reputation and credibility.”
In a statement, Ms James said: “I am heartened by today’s victory and grateful for the prayers and support I have received from around the country.”
“I remain fearless in the face of these baseless charges as I continue fighting for New Yorkers every single day,” she said.
