When does Stranger Things season 5 release on Netflix in the UK? Date and time, confirmed

We wouldn’t blame you for being a little confused about what date and time Stranger Things season 5 is dropping on Netflix in the UK, as the show’s release schedule has changed slightly this time around. As fans wait desperately to see further than the first five minutes of Stranger Things‘ final ever season, many might be logging on to Netflix this morning in anticipation of seeing season 5’s part one – made up of four new episodes – only to be left disappointed.

When season 5’s release date was initially announced, it was scheduled in for November 26, 2025 – and that’s not inaccurate, it just depends where in the world you are. Let us explain.

Netflix subscribers in the UK have become accustomed to new shows dropping at 8am on any given release day, but the streamer has decided to bill Stranger Things for an evening premiere.

This means, with season 5 set to begin on 26 November at 5pm PT (or 8pm ET) for those in the United States, the actual Stranger Things release date and time translates to 1am on Thursday 27 November for those of us wanting to watch in the UK. Now, whether you want to be staying up that late, popcorn at the ready, to tune in is totally up to you. No judgement here.

This change in pattern also has implications for the release of volume two and the finale episode, as Stranger Things‘ fifth season is dropping in three parts. With that in mind, let us provide you with some clarification, so you can set those timers accordingly.

Stranger Things season 5 release schedule in the UK: the exact dates and times

As we’ve explained above, volume one (comprised of four episodes) will be available to UK Netflix subscribers on 27 November, at 1am GMT.

The full schedule is:

Volume 1
 – 27 November, 2025

Volume 2
 – 26 December, 2025

The Finale
– 1 January, 2026

That’s right – some will get a Stranger Things-shaped festive treat on Christmas Day, but those in the UK will have to wait for Boxing Day for the second batch of episodes to drop.

There are lots of questions swirling around what’s going to happen to Eleven, Dustin and the gang – and let’s not even get started on the terrible rumours the internet has created about what it thinks might happen to Steve.

The Duffer Brothers recently debunked a big theory (in an exclusive interview with Digital Spy) that had been debated among fans regarding Will’s time in the Upside Down, revisited in teaser footage from the first episode of season five.

But there’s no way around it – if we really want to get to the bottom of exactly what’s been going on in Hawkins, we’ll have to tune in. At least now, you know what day and time to set your alarms.
