A huge boost for the county.
Caroline Currid has been brought back by Limerick hurling boss John Kiely for next season.
The sports psychologist stepped away after their last All-Ireland triumph in 2023, with the the Treaty failing to win the title in the two years since.
The Sligo-native worked with the Ireland rugby team for their summer tour this year, and also helped Maigh Cuilinn to the Galway SFC title.
She was part of the Limerick backroom team for their first All-Ireland title in 45 years in 2018.
Currid then left to join Tipperary, who went on to win the 2019 title, before returning to the Treaty and helping them to their four in a row.
Limerick strength and conditioning coach Cairbre Ó Cairealláin said: “Caroline was very good at having conversations, checking in with me around players, how they were doing in the gym and where I thought they were at.
“A lot of Caroline’s work was those conversations and subtly going about her business. If something was flagged up on her end or my end, we would come together and put a plan together for someone.
“She was obviously very attuned to the players’ lives outside of the set-up, whereas I’m seeing them in the gym and on the pitch but maybe I wouldn’t have as much of an insight into what’s going on outside of that. Caroline was able to tie all that together.
“For what she does, Caroline really is irreplaceable. I have no doubt that she’s widely regarded as the best in the business.
“It’s not going to be that we’re going to get someone in who can do Caroline’s job in her absence.
“A lot of the stuff that Caroline taught these lads over the years is so ingrained in them that they’re going to carry that forward.
“Now we’ll get the added bonus of Joe’s qualities as well.”
