Crash in Chapel Hill injures 4, power restored for 175 Duke Energy customers

Four people are hurt after crashing into a utility pole on Monday night along Weaver Dairy Extension., according to the Chapel Hill Police Department.
Crews restored power just before 6 a.m. Tuesday for around 175 Duke Energy customers, the utility’s outage map showed. The power outage lasted a little less than eight hours.
Police said a car hit a utility pole around 10 p.m. Monday on Weaver Dairy Extension between Palafox Drive and Rowe Road. The driver and three passengers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The WRAL Breaking News Tracker captured video of crews replacing a power pole and attaching utility lines. Around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, the town of Chapel Hill said crews reopened Weaver Dairy Extension between Palafox Drive and Rowe Road. The area was closed for several hours to make repairs.
The damaged pole appear to be at a curve in the road.
Chapel Hill police said officers are investigating the cause of the crash.
