Les Kiss to take on Eddie Jones in first assignment as 2026 Wallabies schedule revealed

The Wallabies will kick off their 2026 campaign with a Nations Championship blockbuster against Ireland in Sydney on July 4.
The clash at Allianz Stadium will be followed by home games against France in Brisbane on July 11 and Italy at a venue yet to be determined on July 18.
The Italy Test will be Joe Schmidt’s last as Wallabies coach before passing the baton to Queensland Reds boss Les Kiss.

Kiss’ first assignment will be against Eddie Jones’ Japan on August 8 before Australia host the Brave Blossoms in Townsville on August 15.
The Wallabies will play 14 Tests next year after copping criticism for taking on a 15-game schedule this season.
The 2026 international rugby calendar concludes with the inaugural Nations Championship finals weekend from November 27.
“The Wallabies occupy a special place in the hearts of Australian sports fans which was evident in the record attendances and huge broadcast audiences across the historic 2025 season,” Rugby Australia chief executive Phil Waugh said.
“The 2026 program will be every bit as exciting with the Wallabies taking on the best of the northern hemisphere in the inaugural Nations Championship in addition to matches against our great SANZAAR rivals New Zealand, South Africa and Argentina as well as the strong Brave Blossoms from Japan.
“These matches will be critical as the Wallabies’ finalise their preparation for a truly remarkable 2027 campaign, which will… culminate in the first Rugby World Cup in Australia in 24 years.
“The Wallabies sincerely appreciated the overwhelming support of the Australian public in 2025 and the Sea of Gold that turned out across all our stadiums.
“The whole squad is committed to working hard again in 2026 and beyond to put in performances the country can be proud of.”
