Hussam Fawzi Comments Ahead of Indian Goa Match

The technical staff of Al-Zawraa team held a press conference before facing Indian Goa tomorrow, Wednesday, at Al-Zawraa Stadium in Baghdad, as part of the fifth round of the AFC Champions League 2.

Assistant coach Hussam Fawzi pointed out that the team is determined to continue its series of impressive results, emphasizing that the match against Goa will not be easy due to the strong organization of the Indian team and their possession of professionals capable of making a difference.

Fawzi added that Al-Zawraa players are required to focus and fully respect the opponent’s skills, while benefiting from the support of the fans, which is an important factor in the team’s home matches.

Fawzi explained that time was a challenge for the technical staff to correct the team’s physical condition after the pressures the players faced in recent weeks, but he stressed that the team has distinguished players who have shown great responsiveness to the new methods adopted by the technical staff, which tend to be more attacking to provide the team with better harmony and balance between defense and attack on the field.

Fawzi also touched on the efforts of the young players in the team, confirming that some names like Hussein Falah have great potential and deserve to be present in the upcoming Arab Cup, especially in specific positions that suffer from shortages in the Iraqi national team.

He affirmed that these experiences help players refine their skills and raise their readiness for the next stage of continental and local competitions.

It is worth mentioning that Al-Zawraa enters the match ranked second in Group D with 6 points.
