Toronto police are investigating after a TTC staff member was stabbed at the Dundas subway station Wednesday afternoon.
In a post on social media, police say the alleged stabbing happened at around 1:10 p.m., at the subway station on Dundas Street East near Yonge Street.
Police said officers located a victim who had been stabbed, and arrested a male suspect on the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital by Toronto paramedics, and the suspect was also transported to the hospital with injuries, police said.
Toronto EMS told CP24 both were in non-life-threatening condition.
TTC CEO Mandeep Lali said the person stabbed was an employee.
“We are deeply disturbed by the violent attack on one of our employees at Dundas Station today,” he wrote in a post on X.
“This is an unacceptable act against someone dedicated to serving our customers and our city. Our thoughts are with our employee and their loved ones, and we wish them a full and speedy recovery.”

“Safety is our top priority,” Lali continued. “On the very day we announced that Toronto Police would begin patrols on the subway system, we are working closely with them to ensure accountability and prevent such incidents. Violence has no place on the TTC.”
Police said there will be a large police presence in the area as the investigation continues, and the TTC says trains along Line 1 Yonge-University are not stopping at Dundas station as a result.
