Slot, 47, took the trip following Liverpool‘s 2-2 draw with Arsenal having already wrapped up the Premier League title.

However, Liverpool’s form started to dip towards the end of the season and they have not recovered this term.

The title-holders currently sit 12th in the table – behind arch-rivals Everton on goal difference.

Liverpool have won just once in their last six matches in all competitions and were thumped 3-0 at Anfield by Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Scholes has now pointed to Slot’s party getaway as one of the reasons behind their downfall.

The former Manchester United star called the Dutchman’s trip as “disrespectful” and “classless”.

Scholes made the claim when appearing on The Good, The Bad and The Football podcast alongside former team-mate Nicky Butt.

He said: “I think this started towards the end of last season, do you remember when they won the league.

“The bad form started, they went away, went to Ibiza or something.

“Honestly, Arne Slot was DJing.

“DJing in Ibiza. But that’s before the season’s done, that’s what I mean.

“I think that’s disrespectful, before the season’s done. I think it’s classless.”

Liverpool will attempt to get their season back on track with a Champions League tie against PSV on Wednesday night.

Slot has not hid from blame as he took responsibility for the poor form after the defeat to Forest.

He said: “I want to emphasise I am responsible for the current losses.

“You are responsible when you are winning but also responsible when you are losing.

“I can never come up with enough excuses for us to have the results we have. That is far from good enough and I am responsible for that.

“It is my responsibility if we win or lose. What I also see is the team – and the fans stayed until the end – keep on trying until the end.”
