What you need to know about Shona and Aitch’s growing romance on I’m A Celeb
- When I’m A Celeb started, hopes of a jungle romance were not high. Despite it being known that Shona McGarty was single after splitting from her famous musician fiance David Bracken, it was widely assumed Aitch was still with his student girlfriend. But that soon changed!
- In a later episode Aitch, 25, was seen opening up about his feelings to his pal Angry Ginge, saying: “I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for Shona, me.” Ginge teased: “I think she’s really nice, if that’s what you mean?” Aitch smiled: “Yeah, that’s what I mean.”
- I’m A Celeb hosts Ant and Dec later confirmed both stars were single – and fans went wild. It later emerged that Aitch had quietly split from his girlfriend, student Lois Cottam, before flying out Australia. A source said: “There’s no bad blood and she hopes he does well in the jungle.”
- The biggest cheerleader for romance between Shona and Aitch? Ant McPartlin, who said: “It’s been a while since we’ve had a proper one on this show. We’d love to see it. We would celebrate it.”
- Fans were also hugely on board, with one insisting: “Aitch and Shona would make a lovely couple!” But for a while things went a little quiet, with the flames of their romance dying down in following episodes.
- However, on Tuesday night’s show they came roaring back, with Shona, 34, shown gazing at the rapper and licking her lips after he took his top off. As one viewer put it: “Shona, we see you checking out Aitch there.”
- Yesterday, Shona’s family weighed in too – with her sister Camila telling the Mirror as she arrived in Australia: “He is a nice guy… I would definitely have him around for Christmas.” But with evictions about to begin, will the romance begin before the public start voting people out?
