Two Melbourne schools locked down after 11yo student stabbed on school grounds

Two schools in Melbourne’s south-east were locked down on Thursday morning after an 11-year-old boy was stabbed on the grounds of a local primary school.

Police say the boy was treated at the scene by paramedics for non-life threatening injuries and that a woman was also injured in the incident at Brentwood Park Primary School about 9am.

Both Brentwood Park and nearby Kambrya College in Berwick were briefly locked down in the aftermath of the incident for the safety of staff and students.

Police questioned another 11-year-old boy who was found nearby, but he was not taken into custody.
