Okogie added, “It remains a great honour to represent my country, Nigeria. I was excited when we had a training camp at home three months ago … in August … and we played two friendly games against Guinea.
“That was my first time ever playing basketball in Nigeria. I loved playing in front of the fans. The whole environment made it the most heartfelt game I had ever played in my life.”
He concluded by reiterating that any serious player should also be proud of donning the country’s jersey at any point in time, the way he always feels.
Okogie submitted, “To be able to rep your country and play in front of them is a big honour for me. The fact that I was born there made it really cool for me going back there to play for the country.”
Sports247 reports that Okogie will get another chance to prove his love for Nigeria when he libes out with D’Tigers this Thursday against hosts Tunisia at the first phase of African qualifiers for the next FIBA Men’s Basketball World Cup
