Stranger Things star lands next role as Netflix hit comes to ’emotional’ end

Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard has wrapped his lead role in a dark and funny coming-of-age film
Stranger Things fans may be grieving as the final season drops on Netflix soon, but they can anticipate seeing Finn Wolfhard return to screens.
The 22 year old performer, who portrays Mike Wheeler in the Netflix sensation which debuts in just hours, has completed his starring role in Crash Land.
Cinema Express characterized his newest project as a “dark and funny” coming-of-age movie that tracks “a group of small-town amateur stuntpersons whose days revolve around drinking, antagonizing their community, and filming crude, Jack***-style stunts.”
Alongside Wolfhard and LaBelle are Abby Quinn, Billy Bryk and Noah Parker. Wolfhard is also producing the movie together with director Dempsey Bryk, Billy Bryk, and Julian Geneen.
The Stranger Things celebrity, who looked unrecognizable after shooting his final scenes, also recently appeared in A24’s The Legend of Ochi and Sony’s Saturday Night.

Supporters flocked to Instagram to express their opinions on the star’s newest role, with finnwolfhardtherain calling it the “best movie of the year” and a “masterpiece”.
Meanwhile on X, Gigi commented: “I’m so excited for Finn and what the future holds for him. I get the feeling hes gonna steer away from blockbusters and lean more toward niche, authentic films which I think will be a perfect fit for him, and build a solid career upon that.”
Umar Afridi remarked: “A fun pairing and the concept has all the chaos needed for a wild comedy.”
Christy Uloko shared: “Finn Wolfhard and Gabriel LaBelle teaming up for a ‘Jack***’-style comedy? This one already looking wild. Small-town chaos + stunts = guaranteed laughs!”
Finn Wolfhard has a new look
The actor recently opened up about shooting the concluding episodes of Stranger Things and wrapping up an era, revealing to the Irish Examiner that he had no clue how massive the series would become.
He said: “I don’t think that anyone could have expected the reaction that it got out of people.
“None of us knew that it was going to be a big show, especially how it hit pop culture as a whole – it was instant.
“Twenty-four hours from the show coming out, I was in Canada, and I had gotten recognised.”
Reflecting on discovering the scripts for the finale, nearly a decade afterward, he shared: “It was an incredibly emotional experience to read all that for the first time and see the way that all of our characters’ arcs ended in real time.”
Stranger Things season 5 volume 1 drops on Netflix on November 26 in the US and November 27 in the UK.
