Tedesco unfazed as key absences test Fenerbahce’s depth
Fenerbahce will be without five key players due to suspensions and injuries. Midfielders Jayden Oosterwolde, Ismail Yuksek, and Fred Rodrigues are suspended due to yellow card accumulation. Defender Caglar Soyuncu and playmaker Sebastian Szymanski are unavailable due to ongoing injuries.
Additional absences include Rodrigo Becao, Bartug Elmaz, and Mert Hakan Yandas, none of whom are registered for the club’s European roster. Irfan Can Kahveci and Cenk Tosun remain sidelined due to disciplinary exclusions from the squad.
Speaking at a press conference held at the team’s Can Bartu training facilities, Fenerbahce head coach Domenico Tedesco addressed the impact of the recent international break. He noted that 12 Fenerbahce players had been called up for national duty, with eight featuring in competitive fixtures.
“We have not lost our rhythm,” Tedesco stated, adding that “playing European matches always brings a positive momentum.”
He acknowledged the growing list of unavailable players but remained confident in the squad’s depth. “When you play a lot of matches, some absences are inevitable,” he said. “We have a strong roster, and all our players deserve the opportunity to play. When someone gets a chance, it means they’ve earned it.”
