‘Most lethal trident’ to be deployed against Rangers

Sporting Braga will arrive at Ibrox on Thursday with their most productive attacking trio reunited for the meeting with Danny Röhl’s Rangers. The update comes from Record.

We can’t help but highlight Record’s playful headline, “A trio full of POWER sets their sights on RANGERS”. Fair play. But it’s all about Bragas’ Rodrigo Zalazar, Ricardo Horta and Fran Navarro – the only Braga players to reach double figures when combining goals and assists this season.

Zalazar has scored 10 times and provided 2 assists, Horta has delivered 8 goals and 5 assists, while Navarro sits on 7 goals and 3 assists. The Portuguese outlet notes that manager Carlos Vicens is set to bring Zalazar back into the starting side against Rangers after the Uruguayan was rested in the domestic cup.

Zalazar’s return also marks a personal milestone, as the match at Ibrox will be his 100th appearance for the club since arriving from Schalke in 2023.

According to the report, Vicens sees that combination as his most reliable formula, and the expectation is that Braga will turn back to it against Rangers.

The club are close to securing progression beyond the Europa League league phase and currently sit in a position that would send them straight into the last 16.
