The Sun revealed last week that ITV bosses were bringing back the fan-favourite live Bushtucker Trial for the first time in five years.
The last time it aired was during the 2020 series which was filmed in Wales due to Covid.
The live challenge provided one of the show’s most famous moments in 2010, when TV presenter Gillian McKeith “fainted” after the public voted for her to do her seventh trial.
She fell to the ground near hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, and former Olympic gold medallist Linford Christie stepped in to replace her.
It is believed the live trial will take place at some point next week.
A show source said: “The I’m A Celebrity live trial is making a triumphant return to screens this series as show bosses know how popular it is with viewers.
“The stakes are always high during the live trial and absolutely anything can happen – it’s must-see TV.”
