A man been shot dead in a brazen daylight attack in Sydney’s west, with two people now under arrest.
Emergency services were called to Carinya St in Blacktown about midday on Friday after reports a man had been shot.
The man was found with gunshot wounds to his neck, chest and leg.
He was treated by paramedics but could not be saved and died at the scene.
Two people have been arrested on Kildare Rd following a short pursuit, police said.
A Mazda utility fled the scene, police said, before it later crashed.
Two occupants ran from the scene but were arrested a short time later.
They have both been taken to Blacktown Police Station.
“There is a large emergency services presence in the area, with police establishing a perimeter,” a police statement read.
“There is no threat to the public, however, the community is urged to avoid the area.”
