Two people arrested after fatal Sydney shooting

Two people have been arrested after crashing a ute used to allegedly flee the scene of a fatal daylight shooting in Sydney’s west.
Emergency services were called to the scene of a shooting on Carinya Street at Blacktown about 11.50 am on Friday.

A man believed to be aged in his 20s died at the scene after being shot in the neck, chest and leg.
Police tried to stop a ute seen leaving the scene, pursuing the vehicle until it crashed on nearby Kildare Road.
Two people fled the crash, but were arrested a short time later.
They have been taken to nearby Blacktown Police Station.

Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public but urged people to avoid the area due to an ongoing operation.
