What happened to Derrick Henry? Why Ravens RB disappeared in 2nd quarter of Week 13

After a strong start to the game, Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry was nowhere to be found over the final two drives of the second quarter in the Week 13 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Henry finished the first half with five carries for 33 yards and one touchdown, with the score coming on a 28-yard scamper.

However, after a carry late in the first quarter, Henry didn’t get another the rest of the first half and only saw one snap as far as we could tell.

Here’s a possible explanation for what’s going on.

What happened to Derrick Henry?

As far as we know, Henry is not dealing with an injury.

So, it would appear Henry was just getting some rest on the first of the Ravens’ two second-quarter drives.

As for the final two drives of the first half, Henry typically doesn’t see the field when the Ravens are in obvious passing situations and two-minute drills, so no surprise there.

Regardless, Henry having just five carries in two quarters in what is a close game is just unacceptable, no ifs, ands or buts about it.
