Matt Rhule responds to rumor Dylan Raiola could enter transfer portal

A report from CBS Sports says that ‘there is a sense in Lincoln that this offseason may be different as Nebraska is bracing for (quarterback Dylan) Raiola to explore leaving.’ The sophomore has been sidelined since he broke his leg in the Huskers’ loss to the USC Trojans.

In nine games, Raiola threw for 2,000 yards, 18 touchdowns, and six interceptions. The report from Chris Hummer also states that Dominic Raiola, Dylan’s father, declined to comment on the story.

It should also be noted that class of 2026 quarterback Dayton Raiola recently decommitted from the Huskers. Nebraska coach Matt Rhule met with the media on Wednesday afternoon, and he was asked directly about the report.

“I haven’t seen that, so I don’t know anything about that. I would never get up here and talk about a player. I love Dylan like I love all my guys. He’s in there doing treatment right now. So I don’t know about that.”

The Nebraska Cornhuskers (7-4, 4-4) will wrap up the 2025 regular season on Friday, Nov. 28, when they face the Iowa Hawkeyes (7-4, 5-3) at Memorial Stadium. The game will kick off at 11 a.m. CT and can be seen on CBS.
