Six Nations high school student’s success on the rise, according to Grand Erie District School Board report

More Six Nations high school students are on track to graduate throughout all grades 9 through 12 according to Grand Erie District School Board’s Annual Education Agreement with the Six Nations community.

The 2024/2025 Education Service Agreement was presented to Six Nations Elected Council during the Nov. 25 general council meeting where Grand Erie representatives presented data on Six Nations high school students.

The report showed that each set of students in grades 9-12 had on average increased the number of credits accumulated in each grade over the 2023/2024 school year.

Grade 9 student credit accumulation climbed from 33 percent in 2023/24 to 59 percent, Grade 10 increased from 41 percent to 52 percent, Grade 11 increased from 41 to 66 percent and Grade 12 increased from 59 to 60 percent.

The presentation of the Education Service Agreement also outlined other Six Nations student data including enrollment, absences data, and indigenous language class enrollment.
