What to know about Staunton’s ‘Holly Jolly Christmas’ parade

“A Holly Jolly Christmas,” the theme for the Staunton Downtown Development Organization’s Staunton Christmas Parade will begin at 7 p.m. Dec. 1.
This year’s parade grand marshal is Cassie Mierzwa, the 2025 Staunton employee of the year.
“Cassie works in emergency dispatch, calmly helping people through difficult situations,” said Brad Arrowood, interim director at SDDA. “Her peers admire her positive and helpful attitude. She is driven in the SDDA mini truck by Savannah Snider, 2024 employee of the year, who is with the Staunton fire department, and known for energetic personality and passion for serving our community.”
The parade begins with a ribbon cutting at Frederick and New streets, moves along Frederick to Market and then to Beverley Street.
