The awkward moment happened when the Bolton-born stand up – who recently postponed two shows after having surgery for kidney stones – was talking about donating money from his tour to cancer charities.
Among the charities he listed were the Teenage Cancer Trust, Kidney Cancer UK, Blood Cancer UK, Bowel Cancer UK and Prostate Cancer UK.
However, as Peter was reading out the charities, he started to laugh as he looked at Cat – because he noticed she said “yes” to everything he said.
“My tour has been on a while,” he told Ben and Cat. “I am doing extra shows and they are all for 12 charities which are, Children with Cancer UK, the Teenage Cancer Trust, Kidney Cancer UK, Blood Cancer UK, Bowel Cancer…”

Then, he paused and said: “I’m not laughing at bowel cancer, it’s because she keeps saying, ‘yeah’.”
Cat then started to laugh with embarrassment, with Ben then saying: “It’s called active listening, my wife does it and it drives me mad.”
Viewers at home rushed to social media to agree with Peter, with one saying: “At last someone has done it! Peter Kay calling out Cat Deeley on all her “yep… yeah…aha…um” while someone is trying to talk!”
Another tweeted: “Not Peter Kay giving Cat a look to tell her to stop her ‘yep, yeah, uh huh’ About time someone did!”
GENEROUS STAR
The day before Peter also appeared on The One Show to reveal when his long-running tour will wrap – as well as talking about donating money to charity.
Speaking to The One Show anchors Vernon Kay and Lauren Laverne, he confirmed when his Better Late Than Never Again tour would end.
Peter said: “It’s finishing next year, and I am announcing the last lot of shows, but all the profits are going to cancer charities.”
Peter added: “Unfortunately, everybody knows someone who’s been affected on that list, and I just hope people support it.
“Come to the shows. That’s why I’m here.”
The charities which will benefit from the proceeds of Peter’s tour ae Children With Cancer UK, Teenage Cancer Trust, Kidney Cancer UK, Blood Cancer UK and Bowel Cancer UK.
