Thanksgiving has arrived, which for millions of Americans means spending time with friends or family eating copious amounts of delicious food.
While banks and post offices will be closed on the holiday, some grocery, retail and restaurant chains will remain open on Thanksgiving, albeit mostly with adjusted hours.
If you need to make a last-minute run to the grocery store to pick up something for your holiday gathering, Costco will not be an option for you this year, as the company’s website says warehouses will be closed on Thanksgiving.
Stores will reopen on Black Friday, according to the company’s website, and customers can use the warehouse locator to find hours for the warehouse nearest them.

- Kroger: Most stores will close at 4 p.m.; however, store closing times vary by location
- Food Lion: Closing times vary by location
- Meijer: 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Whole Foods: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.; stores in Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island will be closed
- Harris Teeter: Stores close at 2 p.m.
- Wegman’s: Stores close at 4 p.m.
- Sprouts Farmers Market: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Giant Eagle: Stores close at 3 p.m.
