Applicants for the Young Rental Bonus in Lanzarote have until December 5 to rectify

The Cabildo of Lanzarote has reminded the young people applying for the Youth Rent Bonus, included in Annex VIII of the Resolution published a few days ago by the Government of the Canary Islands, that they have a period of ten business days (until December 5) to correct their application and submit pending or required documentation.
Numerous applicants are part of this novel specific aid line that the Cabildo de Lanzarote has created this year, with a budget of 1.4 million euros of its own that have been incorporated into the regional call of the Canary Housing Institute (ICAVI), intended exclusively for the youth of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
The president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, emphasizes that Lanzarote was the first island administration in the country to contribute its own funding to the Youth Rental Voucher, “because we are not going to resign ourselves to a housing crisis that is worsening due to state policies that do not address the reality of territories like ours”.
For his part, the Housing counselor, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, highlights that this procedure is key to speeding up the definitive resolution of the aid and reiterates that “investing in youth housing is investing in the future of the island, in social stability and in territorial cohesion.” Jiménez encourages all the young people required to “review their file as soon as possible and complete the documentation within the enabled period.”
Applicants listed in the Resolution published last Friday must submit both the receipts proving rent payments accrued after the application date, as well as any other receipts or supporting documents that have not been previously provided and are necessary to complete the file.
Compliance with the deadline is essential to avoid losing the right to continue in the aid application procedure.
It should be remembered that the Young Rental Bonus 2025 was published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands No. 191 of September 26, and it provides economic support of up to 250 euros per month for 24 months to facilitate access to a home or room for rent for young people aged 18 to 35 with limited resources.
Thanks to the extraordinary contribution of the Cabildo – an additional 1.4 million on top of the 10.6 million from state and regional funding – Lanzarote and La Graciosa have unprecedented double coverage in Spain for this edition by an island or local administration.
What is the Young Rental Bonus?
– Aid of 250 euros per month for up to 2 years.
– For active rentals from January 1, 2024.
– Aimed at young people aged 18 to 35 with limited income.
– Compatible with rental or usufruct agreements.- In Lanzarote and La Graciosa, maximum rental limits rise to €900/month depending on the municipality, thanks to the individualization applied by the Cabildo
