Lewis Cope doesn’t appear to be taking his time in Strictly Come Dancing for granted, as Katya Jones shared an insight into training as they head into week ten of the competition.
The pair were on a high last week as they scored their second perfect score of the series during the BBC One dance show’s annual Blackpool special, which one again saw Strictly return to the seaside town’s famous Tower Ballroom.
Actor Lewis and dancer Katya, who impressed with their Charleston to Arctic Monkeys’ I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor, opened the epic special show after some big news from show hosts, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
They confirmed ahead of the six couples taking to the dance floor that La Voix, who was paired with pro Aljaz Skorjanec, had to withdraw from the show fully, having initially been given a bye to the following week, due to injury, and as a result, nobody was being sent home.
The weekend saw Lewis and Katya finish top of the leaderboard, after the judges awarded them 40 out of a possible 40 points. But they didn’t have too much time to celebrate before they started work on their next routine, set to be a Rumba to the Harry Styles track, Falling.
They’ll perform the routine during week ten of Strictly’s 2025 series on Saturday night (November 29), before finding out if they’re another step closer to the series during Sunday’s (November 30) results show.
But ahead of their next performance, Katya has shared a glimpse inside the training room and it appears Lewis has been working hard. Looking sleepy in one close-up shot, the professional dancer said: “When he falls asleep halfway through the conversation,” before adding: “Tell me you’re training hard without telling me…”
Another photos then showed Lewis laying out on the floor of their rehearsal space, with Katya commenting: “I think he can have 10 min,” before adding the sleeping face emoji.
Since then, Katya has returned to her social media platform to share how she was surprised with a good luck message for her and Lewis on a giant billboard. Sharing a glimpse at the sign encouraging votes for her and Lewis, she said: “If you spot us on a big screen on Carnaby St (next to the London Palladium) TAG US!” before adding: “I can’t believe it!”

It comes after Lewis and Katya had a message to share with fans following their visit to Blackpool. Sharing pictures from their appearance on the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom, Lewis said: “We absolutely love BLACKPOOL. What an unforgettable night @bbcstrictly.
“Our hearts are full. We are so grateful for the love and support we have received, we will never take it for granted. Please can we do it all again. All praise goes to the amazing team… Choerography by @jennytaps1 @sean.moon @katyajones. Performer by @jaih_betote @jakeleigh__ @abz_kareem @missnatashamould @lashayharvey_ @ilovepolinamayer.”
