The M4 incident is between junction 12 for Theale, Berkshire, and junction 11 – the A33 link at Reading south.

A diverted route takes motorists from the M4 through Reading itself, which is now also congested.

National Highways says: “A full closure has been implemented to allow service providers to work on scene to resurface the road.”
