LALIGA secures over €6.135 billion in domestic audiovisual revenue for 2027/28–2031/32, up 9% over previous cycle

Javier Tebas, President of LALIGA, said: “In today’s complex domestic and international landscape, securing over €6.135 billion in domestic rights and an overall growth of 9%, equivalent to more than €500 million over the previous cycle, is excellent news for the financial sustainability of our Clubs and the future of Spanish professional football. At a time when many leagues are experiencing declining media values, LALIGA’s continued growth and record highs are especially significant. This result reflects the strength of our product and the trust of broadcasters, largely driven by our committed fight against piracy, which has helped increase operators’ user bases, and by the Clubs’ dedication to enhancing audiovisual content and offering the best possible fan experience.”

Telefónica and DAZN have solidified their positions as high-value strategic partners for LALIGA, thanks to their top-tier coverage and innovative programming, which have significantly boosted viewership and match attendance in recent seasons. Their commitment to innovation and responsiveness to evolving consumer habits enables LALIGA to further extend its reach among both existing and new fans. The five-year commercial framework provides stability and certainty, facilitating long-term planning, securing sustained investment by broadcasters, and reinforcing the financial sustainability of the Clubs. LALIGA extends its gratitude to both operators for their renewed commitment to this premium product, with DAZN also continuing to serve as a key partner across several international markets.

The successful outcome of the tender is the result of a strategy built on three key pillars: the continuous enhancement of LALIGA’s audiovisual product, made more attractive through investment in technology and active participation by LALIGA’s Clubs; a comprehensive anti-piracy approach that has protected revenue streams and reinforced the credibility of Spain’s audiovisual ecosystem; and a strategic foresight regarding UEFA’s new commercial framework, which enabled an early tender launch and helped avoid negative impacts seen in other competitions. This combination of innovation, market protection and long-term vision has reinforced LALIGA’s leadership in an increasingly competitive media landscape.
