Chilly Friday morning, but Houston warms up ahead of Saturday’s severe weather threat

Black Friday Forecast:
Before we get to the severe weather threat let’s talk about Friday. Black Friday will bring great deals in the store and seasonable temperatures outside. The early part of the day is dry and cold. Temperatures start in the 40s under partly cloudy skies. The afternoon is breezy with East winds 10-15 mph and gusts to 25 mph. High temperatures are in the upper-60s.

Severe weather threat Saturday night:
We’ll start Saturday under dry skies. A southerly wind brings back humidity and warm temperatures. We’ll climb to the mid-70s before the cold front moves through. The front arrives late Saturday night and moves off the coast overnight.

Flood threat and rain totals:
watch for flooding, hail, tornadoes and strong damaging winds
The one big change I noticed from Wednesday to Thursday is the forecasted rain totals are lower. But the potential for isolated street flooding is possible so don’t let your guard down if you are traveling late Saturday into early Sunday.

This cold front brings significantly colder temperatures to start the month of December. Houston has highs in the 50s for three straight days. And more rain is in the forecast too.
