Skins Game 2025 updates, highlights: Keegan Bradley wins $2.1 million

It started in 1983 but went dormant in 2008. Now, it’s back and ready for its close up.
The Skins Game made its triumphant return on Black Friday, with four PGA Tour stars squaring off in the the fan-favorite friendly money game that the golf world has spent nearly a decade clamoring for. Keep scrolling to catch all the best moments from the 2025 Skins Game.
The final money tally is as follows:
- Keegan Bradley – 11 skins, $2.1 million
- Tommy Fleetwood – 4 skins, $1.7 million
- Shane Lowry – 1 skin, $200,000
- Xander Schauffele – 0 skins, $0
Xander was shutout in the skins but he was the real winner because he showed a ton of personality. That’s going to do it for the live blog. Thanks for hanging out with us on Black Friday. Golf on Thanksgiving weekend is a win. Welcome back, Skins Game. Guessing this will be an annual tradition. Here’s hoping they think even bigger for next year’s foursome.
The final hole was worth $1.125 million and three skins and Tommy Fleetwood cleaned up with a birdie at 16. He finished with $1.7 million, the second most behind Keegan Bradley.
Bradley had the early walk on his birdie putt at the last but it didn’t drop. Then Lowry pushed his putt — “I left a few dollars out there,” he said — and that allowed Fleetwood to win seven figures and the most in a single hole in Skins Game history.
Colt Knost bringing the hard questions to the Skins Game: “How’s it going to feel if you and I finish up with the same number of skins?”
“Pretty shitty, to be honest,” Xander replied.
Gotta appreciate the honesty. Xander might be winless on the day but he’s kept the showing rolling along with his wit and wisdom.
“I’m hot. Two birdies in a row,” Schauffele said as he rolled in the birdie putt for another carryover and he was head to the 16th and final hole.
Xander Schauffele may have had one slice of pie too many on Thanksgiving. He just hasn’t had his A, B or even C game in the Skins Game. But he got on the board with his first birdie at No. 14 and then laughed about it. Unfortunately for him, Shane Lowry no longer was in the giving mood and rolled in his birdie putt to force another carryover and keep the shutout alive for X. It also makes the par-5 15th worth $675,000.
Bradley made a deuce at No. 13 and it earned him a cool $900K. “No congratulations from anybody?” Bradley said.
“Get over here, Colt,” he then said to the Skins Game reporter and gave him a hug.
“I was nervous over the putt,” Bradley conceded. That was some serious dough on the line. It brings Bradley’s total earnings to 11 skins and $2,475,000. Not bad for a morning’s work.
Shane Lowry lipped out for $675K at No. 12. Very unrelatable. I’ve missed putts for a friendly hundo but that’s some serious cash. And now, as a result, the 13th will be worth $900K and four skins, the most money on the table in the history of the Skins. It’s getting quieter and more serious as the stakes grow.
Keegan had a shot to go over $2 million in winnings but his putt never had a chance. That means the 12th will be worth three skins and $675,000.
The 10th hole wasn’t pretty. Tommy Fleetwood nearly won it with a par but Xander stepped up to make his par putt and we got another carryover.
Shane was out of the hole having found the water. Keegan yanked his par putt and Tommy lipped out for birdie. He’s hit more lips than a drunk dentist. Xander still is shut out but at least he kept the money alive for another hole. “I can be your hero, baby,” he said with a smile. Colt Knost joked, “Do you want me to interview Xander for finishing the hole?” Onwards.
Shane Lowry nearly chipped in for eagle but it didn’t matter because everyone else made a mess of the par 5, ninth hole. “I’m pretty happy with that,” he said of winning $150,000 for his first skin. He improved to $875,000 in his account. Lowry’s chip for his third was a beauty, lipping out and leading Justin Thomas to say,” Somebody call Bryson to explain the physics.” DeChambeau would probably be able to perform a TedTalk on how it stayed out. But in the end, Shane is on the board and only Xander is shut out on the front nine. The skins increase to $225K beginning at No. 10.
Captain Keegs strikes again. Birdie at No. 8 was worth $300K giving him a total of $1.625 million and seven of the eight skins to this point. When Colt Knost told him that Justin Thomas predicted he had no chance of holing the winning birdie putt, Bradley was none too happy. “Why’s that? I’m so glad that he said that so I could prove him wrong.”
Shane Lowry left $150,000 on the table at the seventh hole. He pulled a 5-foot birdie putt for the win to let the guys off the hook and allow the pot for the eighth hole to grow to $300,000.
The other person who wasn’t happy? Justin Thomas. He joked that it wasn’t good for his deal with Shane, who replaced JT after he underwent back surgery and was unable to play. Shane said earlier that he would be giving him a nice case of wine to JT depending on how many skins he won. It won’t be the 1962 Petrus after that putt.
Tommy Fleetwood bounced back from missing his birdie putt at No. 5 to win the sixth hole with a birdie. “I was gutted,” he said of his miss at No. 5. “I hit a good putt.”
But he wasted little time stewing over the miss and converts the birdie at No. 6. “I’m on the board,” he exclaimed. No one wants to be shut out and Tommy won’t have time to worry about that now. The reigning FedEx Cup champ isn’t hurting for money but he picked a good time to win his first skin as it was worth $150,000. The other three competitors each lost $50K from their accounts.
At last, we have a winner. Keegan Bradley is $375,000 richer — for the moment — after a birdie at No. 5 and no one could match it. Shane had a chip to win but left it short and missed his birdie putt. It came down to Tommy and he lipped out. “Oh, man, that felt good,” Bradley said. “I need all the revenge I can get on these guys.” More Ryder Cup references. Colt Knost asked Bradley if his fill-in caddie, Jon Curran, would be getting the standard 10 percent for a win. “He gets something, yeah,” he said.
Xander is the clubhouse leader for showing his lighter side. Love this interaction with Colt Knost who asks X to play analyst but to do so as his U.S. Ryder Cup teammate Sam Burns. This is the good stuff. More please:
Shane Lowry, the late replacement for Justin Thomas, made another birdie putt to push the fourth hole. Still no Skins have been won. The pot grows: $375,000. Stats guru Justin Ray is working as part of the TV crew and passed along that the last time that no one won a skin in the first four holes was in 1995. Of course, there hasn’t been a Skins Game since 2008 but still unusual. Need someone to break the seal. The fifth hole will be worth $375,000.
Those are the words of Shane Lowry after he buried his birdie putt at the third hole to spoil the first Skin being won on the day. With Bradley having already holed for birdie, it was up to Shane to make about a 10 footer and he smiled wide and pointed to the sky in delight as the putt dropped. Then the Ryder Cup reference. Poor Keegan, can’t catch a break. On to the fourth hole where four skins and $300K are up for grabs.
First rule of Skins Game: never be short putting for the win! C’mon, Captain Keegs. Bradley had about 15 feet for the win at the par-3 second and left his birdie putt short. That’s some weak sauce. Before he putted, Xander pleaded, “Take it easy on us, will ya?” Maybe he got in Keegan’s head. In any event, the pot grows to $225,000 at the third.
One other thing to look forward to: Andrew Catalon casually drops in that Freddie Couples, the King of the Silly Season, will join the broadcast later. Now, that’s what I’m talking about!
One tie, they all tie is the beauty of playing Skins. No blood at the first and it makes the pot for the second hole worth $150,000. On the walk to the second tee, we learned from announcer Colt Knost that Tommy Fleetwood didn’t bother to play a practice round. But Tommy says he did send his caddie out to scout Panther National. Tommy was busy enjoying his turkey as Shane Lowry’s house. Hopefully, we’ll get some more details on Shane the chef later.
All four men have hit their first tee shot at Panther National and the Skins Game is officially back.
Here’s the format: Remaining true to the traditional Skins Game, each hole carries a dollar value and tied holes will roll over, which can raise the stakes pretty quickly. But, there’s a twist: it’s called a “reverse purse,” in which each player starts with $1 million and that amount will go up or down based on whether a player wins or loses a hole.
Xander Schauffele, Keegan Bradley, Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry.
Justin Thomas was on the original list but announced that he had surgery to repair a back injury on Nov. 14. He was subsequently replaced by Lowry.
