Who is Tina Turnbow in Stranger Things season 5? Everything to know about Caroline Elle Abrams’ character, explained
The first part of Stranger Things season 5 is now streaming on Netflix. Four episodes of the hit sci-fi series dropped at the same time on the streaming platform on November 26, bringing the favorite nerds back to Hawkins as the final battle looms.
However, besides introducing the looming danger and nightmare as the heroes begin their efforts to find and kill Vecna, Part 1 of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things also introduces some new faces, such as Tina Turnbow. Although it may be the first time viewers see her in the show, some fans may recognize her name.
Caroline Elle Abrams plays Tina Turnbow, the eldest daughter of the Turnbow family and Derek Turnbow’s sister. As a character in the series, she has been referred to before fans meet her in Stranger Things season 5, so some may find the name familiar.
Who is Tina Turnbow, Caroline Elle Abrams’ character in Stranger Things season 5, and what happens to her?

Tina Turnbow’s character, played by Caroline Elle Abrams in the series, was previously referred to as Erica Sinclair’s friend. Erica, who is Lucas’s sister, previously claimed that she missed a sleepover at Tina Turnbow’s house because she had to help the group. However, the first part of Stranger Things season 5 reveals that Tina and Erica’s friendship isn’t as close as previously teased.
Erica gives Tina’s crush, Josh, a black eye while playing dodgeball. And while it may be accidental, it strains the relationship between the two. Tina accuses Erica of trying to sabotage her budding romance with Josh, and she thinks that the accident was intentional because Erica is trying to keep her and Josh apart.
But while there’s a strain in their friendship in Stranger Things season 5, they are still forced to rekindle their friendship when Derek, Tina’s brother, and the entire Turnbow family become a target of a Demogorgon attack. They decide on a truce over a pie. It’s Tina’s favorite, which Erica brings to the Turnbow house as an olive branch.

What Tina doesn’t know is that the pie has been laced with drugs, so when she and the rest of the family devour the pie, they all pass out except for Tina. It turns out that she’s watching her calories, so she doesn’t want to eat the pie. But as members of her family start passing out, Erica has no choice but to inject Tina with the drugs.
With everyone knocked out, it gives the gang a chance to blindfold and tie everyone up before whisking them away to an abandoned barn. With the Turnbows safely tucked away from their residence, the gang turns the place into a battleground.
When will the rest of Stranger Things season 5 arrive?
The first part of the Netflix series is now available for streaming, but there are still four more episodes to look forward to before the series concludes. However, unlike the first part, where all four episodes are released simultaneously, the next four will be released in two parts. Episodes 5-7 will be released at the same time on December 25, and the series finale will be out on December 31.
Both installments will arrive on Netflix at around 5:00 pm Pacific Time or 8:00 pm Eastern Time. The series finale will also be shown in select theaters in the US.
